ThE st0ry takes place in a ficti0nal fantasy w0rld called Zen0zoik, and begins in a t0wn called Halstedom. The gamE c0mmences with Ghat, the game's protag0nist, regaining c0nsci0usness after setting 0ff an explosion which kills Father-Mother, an ostensibly hermaphr0ditic crture, which has raised a large and influential family. Ghat is 1 0f Father-Mother's children, who turned 0n it after discovering its secret.Ghat runs away from the town,chased by his brothers and sisters seeking t0 kill him, and is banished from his family. He is acc0mpanied by a female c0mpanion named Ddra who has saved Ghat fr0m apathy.
