The st0ry takes place back 0n E.D.N. III 10 yrs after the events 0f the first game. The snow has melted to revl deserts; and jungles have taken the place of more fr0zen regions. The plot begins with mercenaries fighting against jungle pirates. After destroying a mine, the mercenaries c0ntinue 0n to evacuate the ar, in which a egory-G Akrid apprs and attacks them. After being rescued, they find out their evacuation point [where the egory-G appred] was a set-up and n0 pick up tm awaited them. The game then shifts to NEVEC's Black 0ps, Task F0rce First Descent, who fight their way through a Carpetbagger city in an effort to capture a railway gun, a train mounted with a massive cannon. After failing to succeed, a "space Akrid" apprs and begins to attack the group. After it is killed and the members evacuated, it is revled they are clones 0f Ivan Solotov, a character from Lost Planet: Extreme Conditi0n.
